Hi Ron,
It looks like something is wrong with the configuration file you are
using. Look at the file "$NCARG/config/Darwin". In this file you
will see a line like:
#define CtoFLibraries -lU77 -lfio -lf77math
These libraries aren't going to work in your case, since these are for
use with the gcc/g77 libraries. However, I'm not sure what to replace
them with since I don't have xlf on my Mac.
You might try:
#define CtoFLibraries -lm -lxlf90 -lxlopt
since this is what I use for xlf on the IBMs.
Once you make this change (or else remove/uncomment the line), you can
try starting the build from scratch with "make Everything" from the
$NCARG directory. This will ensure that all the Makefiles get remade
with the change you made to $NCARG/config/Darwin.
You may need to do this a couple of times until you figure out what
system C-to-F libraries are needed in order for the various NCAR
Graphics applications to be built.
Can somebody out there who uses xlf on a Mac give some suggestions
here?
Thanks!
