Don, Thanks for sending us a copy of the old "strmln".
It was a complete mystery to us as to why the values were being reset
until we saw that items in the common blocks STR02 and STR03 are
initialized with replacement statements each time the routine is called,
overwriting any
values set by the calling program. DATA and SAVE statements or BLOCK DATA
could have been used to preset them. Ed
