We have had some problems along the way, but the biggest one occurs when building ictrans. gcc complains about two unresolved symbols in libictrans -- "ftn_str_copy" and "pgf90_compiles" -- and we have found it necessary to add several libraries to the Makefile:

    Hi Eric,

I'm afraid I had the same problem, but I had a slightly shorter list:

      -lpgftnrtl -lpgc -lpgf90 -lpgf90_rpm1 -lpgf902

I, too, would like to find something better! I seem to remember trying
all kinds of combos, and having no luck of getting something shorter.

If anybody has a better solution than what Eric and I have, could you
please post it back to the ncarg-talk group?

    Thanks!
