Regarding the specific combination of PGI compilers and RH Enterprise
Linux 3.0 WS, here at NCAR there isn't such a pairing of host and compiler
    suite in-house.

However, NCAR Graphics v4.3.1 has been successfully built on RH Enterprise
Linux 3.0 WS (using both GNU and PathScale compiler tools), and it's also
been built using PGI compiler tools v5.1-6 (on SuSE Linux v8.1).

I strongly suspect it would successfully build with the combination you've
    listed.
