    Phil,

I (and likely others) would be very interested to hear how NCARG has
worked for you using Mandrake, e.g. did you use the RH compiled
binaries or compile from source? Are you successfully using both LLU
and HLU or just one? Were there any "issues" you had to resolve?

With the loss of the existing RedHat line, shifting to the
no-established-history of Fedora, many RH users such as myself have to
decide what route to follow from here and Mandrake is one option if it
works with NCARG. I am willing to pay $$ to get a version which has
undergone testing, etc and so would seem to be a good candidate to
upgrade to RH Enterprise Workstation, but although RH has apparently
done much to advance Linux and I wish them well, I've not been
impressed with their treatment of individual users (since I bought my
RH7.3 just over a year ago, RH has already gone through RH8, RH9, and
now a termination!) so I'm looking for an alternative future. (Though
there will still be the question of what Mandrake's future is going to
be, since I gather that so far their income has not reached their
    expenses.)
