    OOPS!!

I am in error. The map shifting occurs because of
some pathology with xwud -plane 0. The actual
image in the xwd is not, as far as I can tell,
shifted (verified by skipping xwd header, reading
the image as 8 bit pixels, compressing to 1 bit
bitplane, attaching a PBM header to it, and
using xloadimage to view it)
