polar coordinates and grid perimeters

I'm using Conpack with polar coordinates (MAP = 2), and I would like
a perimeter for the plot. The web page says that CPBACK doesn't work
for non-cartestian, and suggests alternatives:

Cp2.2

"If you have non-Cartesian data, you need to set the MAP parameter to some
nonzero value by using the CPSETI routine. Setting the MAP parameter has
the side effect of causing CPBACK to do nothing. Hence, if you have
non-Cartesian data, and you want a perimeter around your plot, you need to
draw it with the GKS routine GPL, the Dashline routine CURVED, the Gridall
utility, or the Autograph utility."

What's my easiest option? I'd like to advoid drawing a smoothed curve
around the area. I can't find any mention of non-cartesian in the Gridall
or Autograph docs. Am I going to be forced to use "Dashline" and define
my own curve?

thanks,

joel
