Hi-
I've been having a problem with eps files generated by ncar graphics
after upgrading from v4.3 to v4.4. Basically, there appears to be a
change in the bounding box that makes v4.4 eps files unusable in gv or
Adobe Illustrator. Oddly, straight gs can open the new files (or
ps2pdf/Preview on the Mac). This occurs both on GNU/Linux with Intel
and PGI compilers and OS X with NAG compiler, so I think it is not a
platform issue.
In version 4.3, there is no %%BoundingBox line in the eps file. In 4.4,
we get "%%BoundingBox: -1 -1 1 1" If I edit that out, the eps file then
works. So apparently, this is an intentional feature, but it does not
seem to work as expected.
Am I missing something? Is there a work around? Any chance of returning
to the previous behavior?
Thanks!
-Eric
