Hi Jack -- google indicates that this is a redhat9 library problem that
has been seen by lots of projects (including netcdf).
Here's part of a (hopefully) pertinent message:
http://mailman.remotesensing.org/pipermail/ossim/2003-August/000972.html
--You need to update your glibc version.
to check type
rpm -qa |grep glibc
which will give you output like
glibc-2.3.2-4.80.6 glibc-debug-static-2.3.2-4.80.6 glibc-utils-2.3.2-4.80.6 glibc-kernheaders-2.4-7.20 glibc-profile-2.3.2-4.80.6 glibc-common-2.3.2-4.80.6 glibc-devel-2.3.2-4.80.6 glibc-debug-2.3.2-4.80.6
If you are haveing this problem you most likely don't have the 2.3.2-4.80.6 version. Run up2date to get up to this version or better.
Mike
