Trouble Running idt

Hi All,

I'm new to NCAR Graphics and have run into a problem. I'm trying to
display a metafile using idt. (The metafile was generated by a run of
MM5). When I run idt the display panel comes up but the display fails
with the following error message:

   % idt gmeta
   reading stdout of translator: Error 0
   Translator aborted

Does anyone know what this error message means?
