Dear colleagues,
as I am a new subscriber, let me briefly introduce myself.
I am a scientist at the Institute of Meteorology & Physics
at the Agricultural University Vienna, Austria. I have long
experience in Fortran programming including the use of plotter
libraries, but I am new to NCAR Graphics. Thus please excuse
if I should ask too trivial questions.
1) I checked the subdirectory for contributed software at UCAR's
ftp server and found astonishingly few items there. Why is this so?
There must be many many programmes around which could be useful
for people around the world, I would imagine.
2) I am presently working on a programme using autograph subroutines.
It seems that the positioning / sizing of the various labels in these
subroutines does not take into account a change of the default aspect
ratio of characters by calling GSCHXP. How could this be fixed?
3) I want to put optionally 2 or more plots on one sheet of paper.
The easiest way for me would be to map everything into suitable
viewports, but obviously SET is not the means to do it. I would like
to see everything (like label sizes or line widths) shrink accordingly.
Also, I am adding a legend for my curves with calls to LINE and PLCHLQ
which further complicates the matter. Thus a 'global mapping' would
really be desired. Is there any possibility for that? How do other
people solve the problem of having a variable number of plots on a sheet?
Thank you for your patience.
